Hi All,
This is Dustin, typing this from 36,000 feet in the air, flying over Idaho. I have my good friends Levi and Jeremiah Sisemore with me. Through the generosity of some people, I will be visiting the beautiful state of Washington to attend the FaithBuilders workshop. This event has the theme “A Family Focused on God.” I will be missing my family back home in Waco, but look forward to the things I can apply from the classes and lectures.
Part of the purpose for this visit is to begin our support-raising for Sunset. I have a few connections in the area – Tommy Maxwell, minister for the Puyallup church of Christ. I first met Tommy at the Texas Normal Singing School (TNSS) in 2019, and am proud to say I have helped him develop his song leading skills as a video coach. He is has been one of my biggest encouragers since hearing we were thinking about attending Sunset. I have also gotten to know one of his elders whom he brought to TNSS, Gene McCaul. He is a godly man, and has given me some advice as I try to improve the balance between work, church, and home life.
Grant Long is also a really good friend from Grant’s Pass, Oregon. I knew him as he made his way through TNSS, and he has been an encouragement to me as well. He is now on the faculty, teaching third year song leading students (along with another good friend, Joseph Reyes).
Sara has her own connections up here as well. Ken and Cindy Coleman, an elder and his wife at Lakeview church of Christ in Tacoma, Washington were good friends and church members at the Cherokee Church of Christ in Johnson City, Tennessee where she grew up. I finally got to meet Cindy when she came down for a visit to Waco a few months ago.
It will be great to see these friends again!
We will be setting up a booth at FaithBuilders for the singing school, and I will also be putting out our own brochures and business cards. I hope to spread the word to anyone interested that we are going into ministry, and will rely on funds from generous individuals and churches. That being said, please share this website and a recommendation of us to your congregation, and to anyone else who might be willing to support a family investing their future to do God’s work.
Also, please check out the Sisemore’s upcoming ministry as well, which is in need of additional funding before they can launch.
Doxology Project
We are eternally grateful for all of our friends, and for all who choose to dedicate their lives to our worthy God.
The Lord bless you and keep you, and make His face to shine upon you, and give you peace.
